Well that was hard! (That's what she said)

Turns out selling a book about sex can make people very uncomfortable! I had a tough time getting this book published, and had to wait a hot minute for readers that were brave

enough to review it without worrying that their friends or family would see. Sex is completely normal and yet it's still a sensitive and often awkward topic that makes people uncomfortable. From the negative messages many of us received about sex when we were young, to the slut-shaming women get if they are open about their sexual desires, most of us have been led to believe that sex is not an acceptable topic of conversation. Unfortunately, that carries over in our intimate relationships too - the one place where there should be an open and ongoing dialog about sex is open overlooked. After all, sex education in school has mostly been about pregnancy and STDs, so as long as you avoid unwanted issues, you're supposed be happy. In other words, you get what you get and you don't complain. This journal isn't about just having sex, it's about having better sex! The truth is, talking about sex, and educating yourself about sex, is the only way to have better sex. And yes, talking about sex can be very difficult, but it doesn't need to be. You just need something to break the ice, a middleman so to speak. And that's exactly what The 52-Week Sexual Empowerment Journal does. The book raises the questions for you so you don't have to. It's not you asking to try new things, it's the book suggesting it. And it's not your idea to keep track of what felt good, or things you want to try again, it's the book telling you to do it. Having someone or something else make the first move for you makes it so much easier! I've heard so many hushed comments from readers thanking me for creating this interactive journal that will, out of their own embarrassment, never post a written review. And to be honest, I'm okay with this. I'm just as excited simply hearing how this journal has made a difference in readers' sex lives. Empowering yourself to feel good, mentally, emotionally and now sexually is incredibly rewarding - you should give it a try (and I promise won't tell anyone!)
